ATI WiFi Enabled T5 LED Powermodule Hybrid: Tips and Tricks

Below you’ll find some helpful tips for using your ATI LED Powermodule and getting the most out of it.

Tip #1: Timing Trick

A quick and easy way to make adjustments to your current lighting is to simply change the timezone. For example, if you have company in the evening and you want the lights to stay on longer, simply adjust the time zone to a later time zone which will keep the light on for a longer period of time. Or, if you just brought home a new fish and you wish to turn the light off for a short amount of time, switch to a time zone that is currently in the middle of the night. For example, folks living in the United States can switch to an Asian time zone to trick the light into thinking it is the middle of the night. To change the timezone, select the “Settings” tab as shown below. Please note that changing the Timezone will force your light to reboot, so it will turn off briefly while it reboots.

Tip #2: Program One Channel At A Time

When programming, it is much easier to manage just one T5 or LED channel at a time. To remove or add a channel from view, click the icons in the lower left corner as shown below.

Tip #3 – Increase Time and Intensity Intervals

Another helpful tool to make the programming graph easier to see and use is to click “Chart Settings” and adjust the Raster to L or XL. Doing this changes the time interval between set points to at least 30 minutes and the change in intensity between set points to 5% which for most users is plenty sufficient for creating a solid lighting program.

Tip #4: Copy and Paste Programming Channels

When programming, it’s much easier to program one single channel LED channel and then copy and paste that program to the other LED channels of your fixture. To do this, select the “Apply to all” button and pick which channel you would like to copy settings from and then select where you want to paste it. This same functionality will also allow you to copy the program from T5 Channel 1 to T5 Channel 2, or vice versa, with just the click of a few buttons.

Tip #5: Minimize Number of Set-points or Nodes

The ATI LED Powermodule will automatically adjust both the intensity and the color of your LEDs from one set point to the next. Therefore, there is no reason to fill the graph with a ton of extra set points since you will likely want fairly linear adjustments to the intensity anyway.

Tip #6: Save Your Program

To save your program to your computer, click the “File” button and then click “Download” to save it to your computer. (This may not work on mobile devices due to device limitations.). Any saved program can then be quickly loaded back to the fixture for future use. This is very useful since it allows you to create coral acclimation schedules, bulb burn in schedules or simply save your current program so you don’t lose it if you have to perform a factory reset on your fixture. Quickly reload saved programs using the “File” button in the top navigation. Once your chosen program is loaded in the software interface, click the “Save” button to save it to your fixture.
